5 Must-Attend Southern Oregon Wine Festivals and Events

These Southern Oregon events attract both locals and travelers from all over. Let’s delve into a selection of the most beloved gatherings that showcase the best of the area’s wine scene and broader cultural offerings.

1. Applegate Valley Uncorked Barrel Tour

The Applegate Valley is located just west of Jacksonville and Medford, OR. Every year, the Applegate Valley Vintners Association (AVVA) hosts their Uncorked Barrel Tour. It’s a self-guided wine tour that 18 distinct wineries of Applegate Valley participate in. You’re free to visit any of them throughout the day, and they all offer an appetizer, wine tasting, and an educational opportunity to learn more about the art of winemaking.

This year, the event is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

2. Heart of the Rogue Festival

Located in Downtown Medford, the Heart of the Rogue Festival features everything the Rogue Valley offers: eye-catching art, delicious food, local live music, and (of course) wine! The celebration also includes two sporting events, the Rogue Marathon and Bikes N’ Brews

In 2023, the festival was held during the second weekend of October. Stay tuned for the 2024 dates by visiting the official website.

3. Wine, Food, and Live Music at DANCIN Vineyards

DANCIN Vineyards produces some of the most acclaimed wines in the region, including their internationally recognized Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties. If you don’t want to take our word for it, check out all the awards and press features here, including some from Wine Enthusiast, The New York Times, Forbes, and more.

As for fun-filled events, DANCIN hosts “Wine, Food & Live Music” every Friday night from 5 – 7 p.m. Sip on incredible wines, pair them with deliciously curated menu items, and enjoy live music provided by local and regional artists — all while soaking in picturesque views of the Rogue Valley’s gorgeous natural landscapes.

This Memorial Day from 5 – 7 p.m., DANCIN is hosting a new event you won’t want to miss – a Salmon Bake! Watch as the culinary team cooks salmon on stakes over the in-ground fire pit at the edge of the DANCIN Terrace. The fixed menu will include a four-course meal and a curated wine pairing with each course. Plus, you’ll be able to listen to live music from Jeff Kloetzel!
